Spikes or rubbers?
This is the only decision that really matters, and most people get it wrong by buying spikes because they look serious.
Buy spikes if you bowl medium-fast or quick on grass. The metal studs bite into turf during the delivery stride, which is where you generate pace and where you are most likely to slip.
Buy rubbers for everything else. They work on matting, hard wickets, indoor nets and grass. If you are primarily a batter, a fielder, or a spinner, rubbers are more comfortable across a full day and considerably cheaper.
If you genuinely play both roles seriously, most club cricketers end up owning one of each rather than compromising with a single pair.

Are cricket spikes or rubbers better?
Spikes grip better on grass and are worth it if you bowl quick on turf. Rubbers are more versatile — they work on matting, hard wickets and indoors, and are more comfortable if you spend the day fielding. Most club players are better served by rubbers unless they bowl fast.
What size cricket shoe should I buy?
We list every shoe in UK sizes, the same as Amazon India. ASICS runs true to size for men: a UK 9 is a US 10. Because we do not accept returns for sizing, check the size guide before ordering, or message us and we will help.
How long do cricket shoes last?
A season of regular play for spikes, longer for rubbers. Replace them when the outsole tread flattens or the midfoot support softens — worn cricket shoes are a common cause of ankle injuries.
Can I wear running shoes for cricket?
Not for bowling. Running shoes are built for straight-line motion and offer no lateral support for the delivery stride or for turning. For fielding only, they are survivable, but a field shoe costs little more and is far safer.
